K2 is a metal bookcase by Kriptonite, a pressure system between floor and ceiling composed of uprights, shelves and containers.

It’s double-sided and we can easily insert it to divide a room. With K2 we are able to formulate multiple solutions for the living area and the night area.
Available in colors: anodised aluminium, semi-gloss white, matt white, green, orange, matt black.
Shelves and drawers or containers can be made of wood instead of metal.
The K2 bookcase is fixed to pressure between floor and ceiling and the floor should not be pierced!
K2 can be composed of a single span (a column) or by several spans, as many as we want.
UPRIGHTS

The uprights are considered:

a) side uprights ( those that are outside the structure ).

b) central uprights ( those that are in the center in case there are two or more spans ).

If we want to create:

– a single-span bookcase, we need two side uprights.

– two spans bookcase, we need two side uprights and a central upright.

– three spans bookcase, we need two side uprights and two central uprights.
The uprights must be as high as our ceiling. We must indicate the height of the ceiling in the “Additional customizations” section.
The maximum ceiling height can be 4 meters.

If the ceiling exceeds 310 cm we will also need to place an extension in the cart for each upright.
SHELVES
Every 10 cm on the upright there is the possibility of fixing a shelf.
The shelves can be 60 cm, 75 cm, 90 cm or 120 cm wide, and can be 29 cm or 36 cm deep.
We choose those that interest us the most.

Furthermore, the shelf can have the edges facing down (and we will call this simple shelf) or it can have an edge, the rear one, raised, so as to stop the books resting them against (raised edge shelf).
There are also wooden shelves. They have the same dimensions and metal hooks are provided to fix them to the uprights.
DRAWERS AND CONTAINERS
We can also insert drawers, which are very easily fixed in the same place as the shelves. There are a single drawer, a double drawer and a container with a flap opening that we can choose to open from bottom to top or vice versa.
These elements also have a width of 60 cm, 75 cm or 90 cm.

The depth instead can be 36 cm or 44 cm.
Drawers and containers are of excellent workmanship, with a locked stroke guide.

There are drawers and containers, also in different types, in wood.

Consult the attached image in “Choose drawers and wooden containers” where we find the types of containers provided.
ASSEMBLY
K2 Kriptonite’s assembly is extremely simple.

a) We fix some shelves to the uprights with the supplied screws.

b) We partially compose the standing bookcase.

c) We adjust the position with the level, we verify if the uprights are vertical and the shelves are horizontal and we tighten the wheels that are located at the ends of the uprights, one against the floor and one against the ceiling.

d) We fix that to the ceiling.
e) We add other shelves and eventually drawers, and that’s it.

If we mount the bookcase near the wall, it could be useful (especially if the ceiling is over 3 meters high or the ceiling is in plasterboard), fix the uprights to the wall with wall hooks.
